Frequently Asked Questions
Who Are The Mentors?
Laudon Poellinger brings a highly relatable "blue-collar" perspective to mentoring, having earned his way up through every tier of the developmental ladder from local high school hockey to the NA3HL, NAHL, NCAA Division III, and ultimately the SPHL. His journey proves to young athletes that a professional career is achievable through pure persistence, work ethic, and incremental progress, even without being a highly touted tier-one draft pick. As a 6'3", 225 lb professional defenseman, he is uniquely suited to teach young players about the physicality, defensive positioning, and mental toughness required to survive and thrive on modern professional blue lines.
Eriah Hayes offers invaluable mentorship because he has reached the absolute pinnacle of the sport by skating in the NHL alongside legends, providing players with a blueprint for what it takes to perform under the highest pressure. Because his own professional path took him through the grueling minor league system as an undrafted free agent, he understands exactly how to guide players who have to fight for every inch of ice time and recognition. Furthermore, having successfully transitioned into five seasons as a high school head coach, Hayes has already proven his ability to translate his elite experiences into actionable leadership and emotional guidance for developing teenage athletes.
Justin Kendall is an excellent mentor for players aiming to bridge the difficult gap between physical junior leagues and the rigorous demands of NCAA Division I collegiate hockey. Having played four full seasons as a dependable forward for Niagara University, he can teach young athletes how to excel in structured team environments and adapt to roles that prioritize team success over individual statistics. His path is ideal for mentoring student-athletes on balancing rigorous college academics with the elite athletic commitments required to sustain a four-year Division I playing career.
Bryce Gervais offers a rare, multi-dimensional perspective as a mentor due to his incredible iron-man durability—setting a university record with 163 consecutive games played—and his extensive, global professional experience. His career spanning the AHL, ECHL, and top-tier leagues in Switzerland, Germany, and Norway allows him to coach players on how to adapt to different playing styles, cultures, and ice sizes while maintaining peak physical conditioning. Gervais combines his championship-winning pedigree with structured, modern coaching philosophies designed to maximize a player's long-term potential.
